Malaysian National Curriculum (KSSM) is taught from Secondary 1 to Secondary 5. Students in Secondary 1 to 3 are taught English, Mathematics & Science, alongside the national curriculum of these subjects. The other compulsory subjects under the national curriculum include Bahasa Melayu, History, Geography, Design & Technology, Islamic Studies (for Muslim students), Moral Studies (for non-Muslim students) and Visual Arts Studies.
At Secondary 4, students have the option of studying in either science or humanities streams, leading to Secondary 5 and sit for the SPM Examination at the end of the year. The core subjects which the students need to take are Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science (for students in the humanities stream), History and Islamic/Moral Studies. The elective subjects for science stream include Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology while students in the humanities stream have the option to take Principles of Accounts, Economics, Visual Arts Studies and/or Mandarin as elective subjects.
